Tour of the Serbian folklore ensemble in Tunisia

The Academic Folklore Ensemble of the Institute for Artistic Dance in Belgrade and the members of the Association of Performers of Traditional and Folk Dances and Songs "Đurđe", visited Tunisia from 1st to 12th August 2025 as a part of a musical tour organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tunisia. The ensemble had the opportunity to bring Serbian cultural heritage closer to a large audience in Nefta, Sfax, Grombalia, Ariana and Carthage.

The Ambassador Dijana Ivančić received the members of the folklore group at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Tunisia, discussing the group’s many years of artistic activity and work in the field of preserving Serbian tradition and intangible cultural heritage. She expressed great satisfaction with the numerous performances of our ensemble in Tunisia and pointed out the importance of the continuous development of cultural cooperation between Serbia and Tunisia in the spirit of traditional friendship between the two countries, which contributes to better understanding and convergence of our peoples and cultures.

The Ambassador Ivančić attended the performance of our ensemble at the International Festival in Carthage on August 11th 2025, which brought together participants from ten countries, including Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Iraq, Palestine, India and Serbia, as well as Tunisia as the host. The performance of the Serbian ensemble performing dances from the city of Vranje, was met with strong ovations from the audience, as well as numerous congratulations and greetings after the concert.
