Presentation of the Tunisian section of the Francophone Press Union

In cooperation with the Representitation of the International Organization of La Francophonie (IOF) for North Africa, the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Tunisia organized the presentation of the Tunisian section of the Francophone Press Union on May 16th 2025 at the Residence of the Republic of Serbia.

Hawa Assil, the representative of the IOF for North Africa, ambassadors, representatives of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors (GAF), as well as representatives of the Francophone Press Union and Francophone journalists in Tunisia were among attendees at the Presentation.

Ambassador Ivančić and the representative of the IOF for North Africa, Hawa Assil, had the pleasure of hosting the President of the Tunisian section of the Francophone Press Union, Hanen Zbis, who presented the goals and activities of this organization.

During the presentation, the interlocutors emphasized the importance of strengthening the capacity of Francophone journalists and promoting cultural diversity in the French speaking area. Special emphasis was placed on the specific activities of the Tunisian section of the Francophone Press Union, which aim to bring the younger generations closer to the world of journalism.

The Tunisian section of the Francophone Press Union is one of the fifty national sections of this international organization, which was founded in 1950 and is the oldest organization of Francophone journalists in the world. The section in Tunisia was officially established in 2019 and since then it has been bringing together participants of Francophone journalism in the country.
