State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H.E. Mr. Damjan Jović is visiting Tunisia, where on the first day of his visit he met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad H.E. Mr. Mоhamed Ali Nafti. During the conversation, the traditional friendship of our two countries and mutual determination to improve overall relations were highlighted. In this sense, the importance of the upcoming meeting between Ministers H.E. Mr. Marko Đurić and H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti on the sidelines of the next session of the United Nations General Assembly was emphasized.

Bilateral political consultations were then held with the Tunisian counterpart, State Secretary H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ben Ayed. In a very cordial and friendly atmosphere, the most important issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed in detail, including the deepening of political dialogue, economic ties and further improvement of cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. The interlocutors also agreed on the need to further strengthen contractual and legal regulations.

Commitment to respect of the principles of international law and cooperation based on mutual respect, equality and solidarity was confirmed on both sides. State Secretary H.E. Mr. Jović expressed great gratitude to friendly Tunisia for the consistent support it provides us regarding the respect of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia.

They also discussed the intensification of multilateral cooperation, including the current candidacy of the Republic of Serbia for full membership in the International Organization of La Francophonie, of which Tunisia is the current chairman.
