On the occasion of Francophonie Days, which are celebrated in Tunisia throughout the year with numerous activities, the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Tunisia organized a presentation on June 5, 2024, which was attended by Ambassadors of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors (GAF), representatives of Tunisian universities and media, as well as numerous representatives of Serbian media, together with young influencers, who stayed in Tunisia in the previous period.

The event started with the song "Tamo daleko / Far Away" performed by the young artist Zorica Pajić Zorja, after which a film about Serbia was shown.

Amb. D. Ivančić then addressed the guests by pointing out that Francophonie Days represent a good opportunity to promote the diverse cultural wealth and heritage of Francophone countries, which are connected in this diversity thanks to equality, complementarity and solidarity. She informed the audience about the candidacy of the Republic of Serbia for full membership in the International Organization of Francophonie (OIF) and expressed the hope that all members will support our country's candidacy during the Francophonie Summit in October 2024 in Paris. She then spoke about the historical connection between our country and the francophone world, which was established even before the formal establishment of the OIF.

She emphasized that Serbia has made significant progress since becoming an associate member of the OIF and expressed her belief that by gaining full membership, we will contribute to strengthening the mission of La Francophonie in the region of Southeast Europe.

She also took the opportunity to remind that Serbia is the host of EXPO 2027 and pointed out its importance.
